This workshop is organized by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and is titled “Does banning illegal logging rule out wood? Implications of recent trade legislation within the UNECE region for the forest-based sector.” It aims to: increase understanding of recent legislation in the UNECE region, including in the US and EU, on trade in timber, and its likely impacts on the global forest-based sector; and stimulate focused stakeholder discussion as a basis for drawing recommendations, to be made publicly available.
