UNECA 31st Intergovernmental Committee of Experts

The UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) will host the 31st Intergovernmental Committee of Experts (ICE) under the theme, ‘Green economy to speed up industrialization in North Africa.' The meeting will bring together representatives from government, academia, civil society and the private sector from Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia to discuss economic and social conditions in North Africa, and recommend ways to enhance economic development and integration in the sub-region and with the African continent. Participants will also discuss environmental preservation within the context of industrialization. A roundtable on ‘Industrialization through trade in North Africa in a multi-agreement context' will discuss the conditions necessary to facilitate and promote industrialization and build value chains through intra-African trade.
