This Multi-National Inception Workshop will serve to launch the piloting exercise for impact indicators. It is organized by the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Secretariat with the technical support of the United Nations Environment Programme – World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) and financial support of the Government of Spain and of the European Commission. This event will aim at achieving a common understanding of the UNCCD indicator-based impact monitoring and reporting as well as at creating an informal network of professionals from the participating pilot countries that can support each other in the piloting process.
