This event, to be held on the occasion of the opening of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), aims to: present key science initiatives and their contribution to alleviating social and economic deprivation and supporting economic growth and development; and address the enabling policy and regulatory environment necessary to implement the initiatives and achieve their expected impacts within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specific sessions will convene on: energy and shifting paradigms in changing climates; climate change challenges related to future food and water security; science, policy and the environment and the case for circular science; and a round table discussion on perspectives for global collaboration.
