UN High-Level Event: Leaving No One Behind: Energy for Humanitarian Response and Sustainable Development

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) are organizing this panel discussion on the eve of the UN Summit on Refugees and Migrants. The event will promote the use of sustainable energy and highlight its value in improving health, education, women's empowerment and resilience to crises. The organizers are showcasing various energy solutions and emphasizing the need to improve energy access for refugees and displaced people in camps, given that 80% of them do not have such access. The event is organized in partnership with the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, the IKEA Foundation, the Moving Energy Initiative, Schneider Electric and UN-Energy.
