UN Bristol Meeting on Faiths and the Sustainable Development Goals

This event, hosted by the Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP), aims to address the common cause between the core values of faith and sustainable development principles. Faith-based organizations are expected to play a critical role in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), given that more than 80% of the world's population associate themselves with a faith. Faith traditions that have developed long-term plans for the next ten years on their possible levels of engagement with the SDGs will present their plans at the event and review progress made. These plans will also be presented to the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in September, when the SDGs will be formally adopted.
