Third Session of the Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Americas

The Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in the Americas is a multi-stakeholder forum that brings together key DRR stakeholders throughout the Americas. It is a participative space for knowledge sharing that promotes the planning, monitoring and collective decision making and strategy, as well as action to implement the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015: Building the resilience of nations and communities to disasters, all with linkages to international and national climate change adaptation efforts. The Third Session is co-organized by the Regional Office of the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) for the Americas, the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Government of Argentina, with strong participation planned by subregional DRR organizations such as Central America's CEPREDENAC, the Caribbean's CDEMA, and MERCOSUR's REHU.
