Organized jointly by the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) and the Agriculture Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the Ibero-American Model Forest Network, this event seeks to address advances and challenges of forest sector development, providing a platform for stakeholders to share and exchange information and experiences on critical issues affecting tree resources and forest landscapes in Latin America. Central to these discussions will be the impact of forest science on livelihoods, environment and sustainable development in the Latin America and the Caribbean region. The three central themes of IUFROLAT are Forests and Ecosystem Services, Forest Sector Competitiveness and Governance and Management of Landscapes.
