Third CTCN Advisory Board Meeting

The Third Advisory Board Meeting of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) will bring together observers from various organizations, including intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), UN organizations, and parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The Advisory Board, which meets twice a year, is expected to review the CTCN's criteria and work programme as the CTCN becomes fully operational. The CTCN, the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism's operational arm, works to increase access to new and existing technologies for both adaptation and mitigation. It is hosted and managed by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), in collaboration with the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and supported by 11 Centres of Excellence in both developed and developing countries. The CTCN is accountable to, and under the guidance of, the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UNFCCC through its Advisory Board, which determines the CTCN's modalities and rules of procedure. The Advisory Board's Constitution was agreed at COP 18 in Doha, Qatar, in 2012.
