The conference, organised by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in partnership with the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), will address the theme of “Fiscal Policies and the Green Economy Transition: Generating Knowledge – Creating Impact”. The Green Growth Knowledge Platform is a global partnership of around 35 organisations, established by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Bank, to research and further strengthen the theory and practice of green growth, including the application of fiscal instruments such as environmental taxes, pollution charges, subsidies for green technologies, green budgeting, and tax incentives.
