The Green Economy and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

This workshop will discuss how greater coherence between economic, environmental and social public policies can contribute to implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the post-2015 development agenda. Participants will present analytical work and policy tools to support governments in shifting toward a green economy, with an emphasis on methods that focus on policy coherence, inter-institutional collaboration and whole-of-government approaches. Two sessions will focus on Mexico: Mexico and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; and the transition towards a green economy. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) are organizing the workshop and will present their vision on policy coherence for sustainable development and on the green economy agenda, respectively.
