This two-panel event focuses on “The contributions of law to the Rio+20 agenda” and is chaired by Irene Khan, Director-General, International Development Law Organization (IDLO). The first panel is themed, “National best practices in sustainable development law for the green economy,” and the second panel is themed, “The contributions of international treaties and tribunals to sustainable development governance,” with both panels followed by plenary discussions. The event is co-organized by IDLO and the Division for Sustainable Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSD/DESA), with support from the Government of Italy.
