The Global Mechanism (GM) of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), the German Cooperation (GIZ), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the Sylva Mediterranea and the Moroccan High Commission for Water and Forests and the Fight against Desertification are co-organizing this workshop. Participants will discuss: funding options for sustainable forest management (SFM), and the how sustainable financing mechanisms for SFM can be designed in the MENA region; current patterns of forest financing in the countries of the Collaborative Partnership on Mediterranean Forests (CPMF); innovative financing solutions for the forestry sector; and national roadmaps for the development of sustainable financing solutions for SFM.
