Strength in Numbers: International Conference on Forest Producer Organizations

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) and the Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) are convening this conference in collaboration with a number of partners in order to follow up on the findings of the report ‘Strength in numbers: Effective forest producer organizations'. As such, the objective of the conference is to support sustainable forest management (SFM) by smallholders and communities through forest producer organizations. The conference will identify challenges and criteria for success with regard to forest producer organizations, build an enabling environment for capacity building, and explore ways and means to deliver multiple benefits through forest producer organizations including for society and the environment.
