The UN Intergovernmental Forum on Forests called on governments to explore “strategies to stimulate and promote the sound use of wood as a renewable and environmentally friendly material.” The UNECE Timber Committee and the FAO European Forestry Commission, with the Government of Romania, have responded to this call by convening this seminar on the topic. The seminar is open to all. There will be invited and voluntary papers.
