The 51st Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean will include a special session dedicated to Beijing+20, as part of the region's regional review process. Participants will consider progress and achievements on the Beijing Platform for Action, including in the context of commitments for the post-2015 development agenda. Participants will discuss a regional report on implementation of Beijing+20, prepared by the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean's (ECLAC) Division for Gender Affairs. The report summarizes national reports on progress and challenges after the launch of the Beijing Platform. The recommendations of the meetings will contribute to the global review of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action at the 59th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
