The sixth regional EST (environmentally sustainable transport) forum in Asia will be held under the theme “Sustainable Mobility”. It is organized by the UN Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD), the World Health Organization South-East Asia Regional Office (WHO/SEARO), and the Governments of India and Japan. In follow-up to the Fifth Forum, which adopted the Bangkok 2020 Declaration, the Sixth Forum will provide an opportunity to discuss and share the progress made by countries towards achieving the Declaration's goals, as well as its effective implementation. The Sixth Forum also is expected to contribute to regional input to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) by addressing EST in the context of moving towards a green economy.
