The seventh session of the World Urban Forum (WUF) will be held in Medellin, Colombia, on the theme ‘Urban equity in development – Cities for life’. WUF 7 will include high-level dialogues on equity in urban development law; urban planning and design for social cohesion; basic services–local businesses for equitable cities; innovative financing instruments for local authorities; raising standards or urban resilience; and a safe city as a just and equitable city. It will also feature special sessions, round tables and business, gender and youth assemblies. WUF is an international forum exchanging views and experiences on urban challenges and opportunities. Participants include governments, international organisations, NGOs and other stakeholders. The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) convenes the WUF every two years.
