It aims to: assess national and sub-regional food security information systems (FSIS) efficiency; assess and harmonize approaches to strengthen links between food security information, market information, early warning systems and the development of response strategies; identify key capacity building needs at the sub-regional and national levels; promote food market transparency; and identify methodological, institutional, technological and political issues to consider in defining strategies that improve the technical quality and the scope of the analysis provided by the FSIS.
