Second World Forum on Urban Forests

The Second World Forum on Urban Forests will focus on the theme, ‘Greener, Healthier, and Happier Cities for All’. The theme highlights the importance of building inclusive, accessible cities where the goods and services of urban forests and trees are universally available.

The Forum aims to highlight positive examples of planning, design, and management approaches that cities with diverse cultures, forms, structure, and histories have implemented to optimize the contribution of urban forests and green infrastructure in terms of environmental conservation and resilience, economic development, social cohesion, and public involvement. The Forum will also showcase the role of urban forests and green spaces in achieving SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities) and making cities safe, resilient, and sustainable.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the Italian Society of Silviculture and Forest Ecology (SISEF), and the Politecnico di Milano co-organize the World Forum on Urban Forests.
