This meeting aims to finalize the International Drought Initiative (IDI) roadmap and to determine the future activities of the IDI. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s International Hydrological Programme (UNESCO-IHP) and the Iranian Ministry of Energy launched the IDI to facilitate networking among international organizations and practitioners active in the field of drought. The meeting also aims to exchange lessons learned on drought management and responsiveness towards droughts. The target audience for this event includes top and mid-level managers and decision makers working in drought and disaster management in Iran and around the world.
