SDG Moment 2024

The SDG Moment 2024 aims to show how the world can come together with decisiveness and determination to achieve dramatic progress on the SDGs by 2030. The fourth SDG Moment will showcase examples of progress from around the world and highlight the role of political leadership, SDG investment, and global partnerships in achieving food systems transformation, the renewable energy shift, and expanded digital connectivity.

The UN Secretary-General will convene this event to demonstrate that transformation is not only possible but essential. The event will bring together high-level government representatives with participants from UN agencies, the private sector, academia, and other stakeholders, including youth.

The event will showcase the role of just transitions in reshaping food systems to alleviate hunger while conserving nature, advancing renewable energy towards net-zero emissions, and promoting digital connectivity to empower women, youth, older persons, and persons with disabilities. The event will highlight the importance of quality education, skills development, and access to decent work as core pillars of the 2030 Agenda and will explore how enhanced social protection and decent work opportunities can ensure that transformation drives poverty eradication, reduces inequalities, and empowers women and youth.
