The Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) 2014 High-Level Meeting (HLM) will convene partners, donors and banks, and countries on the sidelines of the World Bank Spring Meetings on the theme “smart investments to achieve water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for all”. The meeting aims to: outline an ambitious, yet achievable, vision for the sector; link WASH (and sanitation in particular) to the economic growth agenda; communicate how finance ministers can achieve best ‘value for money'; emphasize the importance of getting investments right, including addressing sustainability and inequalities; provide an opportunity for learning from successful cost-effective and sustainable investments in WASH; and challenge participants to make WASH a high priority in the post-2015 agenda.
