This seminar is organized by the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and co-hosted by the Governments of Germany, the Philippines and Switzerland. It aims to educate Member States on the importance and effectiveness of resource and energy efficiency in industry, particularly as an input to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) process. The seminar will address the following topics: why resource efficiency/productivity?; financing resource efficiency in industry; and the contribution of energy efficiency to sustainable development and resource efficiency.
