This meeting is organized by the Albertine Rift Conservation Society as part of a regional Stakeholders Engagement for Informed Decision-Making, Threats Mitigation and Sustainable Fresh Water Services Management in the Great Lakes Region of East and Central Africa project. The forum will convene under the theme “Addressing the drivers of change in the Freshwater Systems of the Great Lakes Region”. The two-day event will take place in the framework of the project ARCOS is implementing with funding support from the MacArthur Foundation and in partnership with Lake Tanganyika Authority, Nile Basin Discourse, Ramsar Centre for Eastern Africa, BirdLife International/Africa Partnership Secretariat and IUCN-Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office.
