Regional Forum on Rural Development, Climate Change, Biodiversity and Desertification

This Ministerial-level forum is organized by the Central American Commission on Environment and Development (CCAD), Central American Agricultural Council (CAC) and Council of Health Ministers of Central America (COMISCA). Under the theme “Contributing to the Region's Security and Governability Faced with Climate Change,” the Forum will examine progress and identify priority actions and mechanisms for inter-institutional coordination and social participation at the national and regional levels on climate change adaptation and mitigation in the context of the implementation of the Central American Integration System's (SICA) Agro-environmental and Health Regional Strategy (ERAS), and in line with the region's commitments derived from the Conventions on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Biological Diversity (CBD) and Desertification (UNCCD). Also during this Forum, CCAD's Technical Committee on Climate Change will meet to discuss next steps in the region's cooperation on climate change.
