This side event is being organized during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) by the Royal Society of the UK, the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and the African Institute for Development Policy. Focusing on the impacts of changing population dynamics and increasing levels of material consumption on sustainable development, this event will address the importance of population in discussions of how to promote a credible sustainable development agenda.
