The Partnership Forum, to be held from 20-22 June 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will consist of sessions showcasing the contributions of partnerships to the implementation of sustainable development. The goal of the Forum is to build on the mandate agreed at the 11th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD 11) and to “reenergize, revitalize and strengthen” partnerships to make them more effective and accountable vehicles for implementation. Sessions will: showcase best practices; discuss how partnerships can advance the implementation of the agreements reached at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20); identify successful models and opportunities for replication and scale up; and promote discussions on more effective accountability measures.
