Organized by the Secretariat of the Basel Convention, with the financial support of the European Commission, the Government of Norway, Hewlett-Packard and Dell, the aim of this forum is to bring together stakeholders from the Governments of Africa, international organizations, academia and the private sector, to discuss solutions to the problem of e-waste in Africa. The forum seeks to develop a perspective on an environmentally sound e-waste management framework applicable in the African context. Participants are expected to discuss the need for regulatory frameworks and ways of establishing or strengthening national, regional and international collaboration.
