The UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) Secretariat in collaboration with the Gabarron Foundation is holding a reception to display 21 winners from the International Forest Photograph Contest, which focused on the theme, 'Forests for People'. The International Forest Photograph Award was launched in 2013 by the UNFF Secretariat to honor efforts that visually capture the unique connection between forests and people everywhere. Over 400 entries from 39 countries competed to win. This exhibit features 21 photographs that were picked as finalists; they include 6 winners, 9 honorable mentions and 6 special acknowledgements. Also on display are the winning films from the 2013 International Forest Short Film Festival. The twenty-one finalists from the film and photo contests were announced on the occasion of the first International Day of Forests on 21 March 2013.
