OECD’s 50th Anniversary Forum and Ministerial Council Meeting/OECD 50th Anniversary Week

“OECD 50th Anniversary Week” will open with the launch of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Better Life Initiative, which aims to move away from GDP based progress indicators, and takes a new approach to measuring societal status and advancement, building on the OECD’s Green Growth Strategy. The week will also include the OECD’s 50th Anniversary Forum and Ministerial Council Meeting, which will bring world leaders, policy makers and stakeholders from OECD countries and emerging economies together to discuss new sources of economic growth and jobs, gender equity, rising food and energy prices, greening production and consumption, and global development. The OECD Economic Outlook will also be released by OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and Chief Economist Pier Carlo Padoan on 25 May 2011.
