This symposium will encourage investment in bioenergy in West Africa including through awareness-raising and facilitating public-private partnerships. Expected outcomes from the symposium include outlining specific opportunities for developing a New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) facility for promoting sustainable bioenergy in the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) region, information exchange between all stakeholders and recommendations to improve the enabling environment.
