Nature for Life Hub 2023

The Fourth Nature for Life Hub 2023 will showcase opportunities to accelerate action on the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and place nature at the heart of development. The Hub aims to bring together governments, civil society, academia, and the private sector to exchange knowledge and solutions, promote collaboration and partnerships, and raise awareness and countries’ ambitions to deliver National Biodiversity Strategies and Actions Plans (NBSAPs).

The 2023 Hub will focus on three overarching themes:

  • Preserving our planetary safety net: Identifying leverage points to preserve a planetary safety net and deliver on the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework;
  • Delivering a nature-positive economy: Transforming political, social, financial, and economic systems to create incentives for an economy that accounts for nature’s values; and
  • Promoting a whole of society approach for nature: Fostering inclusive collaboration and engagement to deliver on our shared responsibility to protect, restore, and manage nature.

The Nature for Life Hub is hosted by the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
