This side event will be held during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) and is being co-organized by the High-level Panel on Global Sustainability (GSP) and the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). It will focus on national approaches to strengthen human resource and skills development to advance green, low-emission and climate-resilient development, and highlight opportunities and challenges of fostering a strategic approach to learning and skills development. The event is sponsored by the Government of Switzerland through its support of the 2011-2013 Pilot Phase of UN CC: Learn.
