NAP-GSP Africa Regional Training Workshop (Francophone)

The National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) will convene a four-day, high-level training and knowledge exchange on developing and implementing NAPs. Environment, finance and planning ministers from French-speaking Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in Africa will attend the workshop. The workshop objectives include: improving understanding of the NAP process; clarifying entry points for a NAP process, taking into account the local political economy; identifying the technical, financial and institutional needs for integrating the NAP process into the country's planning and budgeting process; learning what other countries have done/are doing to advance their NAPs; increasing awareness of methods and tools for developing a strategy to advance NAPs in the ministers' respective countries; and exchanging information on the potential financing mechanisms for NAPs. NAP-GSP is a project of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
