Ministerial Dialogue: Seizing Ecolabelling and Sustainable Public Procurement Opportunities

This is the official contribution of the Nordic Council of Ministers to Rio+20 and offers a Ministerial dialogue between Nordic and Southern Cone countries. It sets the focus on ecolabelling and sustainable public procurement (SPP) and highlights the potential and advantages of regional co-operation. The side event discusses the inter-linkages between sustainable consumption and production (SCP) and green economy policy instruments and practices within the framework of sustainable development and poverty eradication. Speakers include: María Ignacia Benítez Pereira, Minister of the Environment, Chile; Fernando da Mata Pimentel, Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Brazil; Ida Auken, Minister for the Environment, Denmark; Ville Niinistö, Minister of the Environment, Finland; Palle Christiansen, Minister for Nordic Cooperation, Greenland and Svandís Svavarsdóttir, Minister for the Environment, Iceland.
