The African Union (AU), with the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP), is hosting the Africa Ministerial Conference on Rural Infrastructure to explore possible areas to build on initiatives to ensure that Africa’s smallholder farmers have access to markets including regional and international markets. Topics to be deliberated include challenges facing rural infrastructure such as rapid urbanization and resource availability and emerging opportunities including regional approaches to infrastructure provision.
