May Climate Week 2025 will focus on the theme, ‘Dialogues for Ambition and Implementation,’ and provide a space for dialogue, capacity building, and showcasing innovative solutions to support the intergovernmental process and urgent, inclusive, and coordinated climate action. The meeting is one of two Climate Week meetings in 2025 that aim to build momentum towards the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 30) by facilitating targeted inputs to future meetings.
The UNFCCC secretariat is introducing a new, enhanced platform for Climate Weeks in 2025 that builds on the foundation laid over the years by Regional Climate Weeks and also recognizes the evolving needs and new challenges of the climate agenda. The UNFCCC Secretariat will lead the biannual meeting platform with a focus on accelerating the translation to action on the ground of decisions adopted under the intergovernmental process. Climate Weeks will convene twice a year in different regions to maintain a global focus.
May Climate Week will bring together representatives of parties and non-party stakeholders in a global space that will combine several UNFCCC mandated meetings as well as policy and high-impact dialogues. The meeting will link the intergovernmental process and the discussions that feed into the UNFCCC COP with the practical needs of implementation, enabling consolidation of activities to increase efficiency and impact.
Panama will host the first Climate Week in 2025 in Panama City. The second Climate Week is expected to convene ahead of COP 30.
