The Division of Sustainable Development (DSD) of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is organizing this Forum in collaboration with an 18-member steering committee representing the nine Major Groups, and the Caribbean, Pacific and AIMS (Africa, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean and South China Sea) regions. The Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) takes place from 1-4 September 2014 on the theme of 'The sustainable development of small island developing States through genuine and durable partnerships'.
