Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate

The Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate (MEF) will convene to galvanize actions that will strengthen energy security, enhance the resilience of global food security, and tackle the climate crisis.

This meeting of the Forum is being convened by US President Joe Biden and will provide an opportunity for world leaders to raise ambition and join new efforts and initiatives aimed at tackling the climate crisis while advancing energy security and food security, including the Global Methane Pledge Energy Pathway, a collective 2030 goal for zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), the Green Shipping Challenge, the Clean Energy Technologies Demonstration Challenge, as well as efforts to enhance food security.

The major economies that compose the MEF together account for roughly 80% of global gross domestic product (GDP) and global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
