Launch Event: Pathways for Consensus-Building

The Global Forum for National SDG Advisory Bodies will launch a study of how sustainable development councils advise governments on implementing national sustainable development strategies. The study was conducted by the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC) on behalf of the Global Forum. It identifies success factors for establishing and maintaining a multi-stakeholder council at national level, drawing on the experiences of eight countries around the world.

The launch event will discuss “pathways for an institutionalized and durable “whole-of-society” approach to support critical transformation areas and foster just approaches for the transition towards sustainable development”. It will shed light on the work programs, instruments and processes of councils around the world supporting their governments in SDG delivery.
