The Latin America Regional Resilience Dialogue will be held on the theme: Building Urban and Rural Resilience to Mobilize Efforts in Latin America to Recover from the Pandemic. The event will highlight the climate resilience needs and priorities of non-party stakeholders, especially those most impacted by climate change and variability in Latin America.
The Dialogue will focus on urban and rural resilience, as well as on how non-party stakeholders can reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate change and variability, and how nature based solutions can build resilience to these impacts. The objectives of the Dialogue are to:
- gather insights on narratives of climate resilience and transformative actions in Latin American cities and how these can be taken to scale post COVID-19;
- identify the transformative adaptation tracks (including nature-based solutions) that effectively build sustainable resilience in agriculture and food systems in Latin America; and
- recommend actions that can be undertaken by the High-Level Champions (HLCs) to support climate resilience.
This dialogue is part of a series of regional dialogues convened with non-party stakeholders, organized by the Global Resilience Partnership together with the Climate Resilience Network of the UNFCCC Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action with the support of the Chile and UK High Level Champions, Gonzalo Muñoz and Nigel Topping.
The Latin America Regional Resilience Dialogue is co-led by the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP), Alliance for Rural Climate Resilience (ARC), Alliance Bioversity-CIAT and the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), Fundación Avina, and the AARF Resilience Center.
