Land Day 6 will consider the theme “Land Degradation Neutrality – A Response to the 2020 Aichi Targets”. It will take place on 15 October 2012, at the Rio Conventions Pavilion, which is being orgainzed in parallel to the meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The speakers at Land Day 6 will showcase the benefits of synergetic implementation of the Rio Conventions using successful initiatives that simultaneously conserve biodiversity and restore degraded land. Land Day 6 will, in particular, offer an opportunity to consider the relationship between the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and the implementation of the UNCCD’s 10-Year Strategic Plan and Framework to enhance the implementation of the Convention (2008-2018).
