Japan-Iceland Geothermal Forum 2010

This Forum will focus on the cooperation possibilities between Japan and Iceland, including development and financing. Participants will discuss: the challenges of geothermal use, the possibilities for further development, the role of governments in developing geothermal energy, the combined strengths of the Japanese and Icelandic models, the joint development and financing of geothermal power plants in developing countries, how geothermal projects can be financed and risks can be mitigated, the main obstacles in the development and construction of geothermal power plants in developing countries, and the role of development banks and financial institutions.
