To be held on the sidelines of the UN Climate Summit, this Expert Workshop will address the role of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) in addressing the challenges of producing more nutritious food on less land under the influence of climate change. The workshop will cover activities and initiatives under the Treaty in three segments: conservation and management of crop diversity; the Treaty systems for downstream use of crop diversity; and breeding and making available climate-smart varieties to farmers.
