Organized by the Secretariat of the International Plan Protection Convention (IPPC), this meeting will discuss an IPPC standard for electronic certification of phytosanitary standards. Electronic phytosanitary certification is the authenticated and secure electronic transmission of phytosanitary certification data, including the certifying statement, from the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of the exporting country to the NPPO of the importing country. The electronic certification process could become an alternative to the current IPPC paper phytosanitary certificate.
