This workshop, to convene at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) headquarters in Rome, Italy, will address: soil spectroscopy, including new techniques, calibration-validation and analysis of large-scale spectral libraries; soil spectroscopy to monitor the state of soil resources now and in the future; and harmonization of the protocol for the collection of laboratory spectra. The workshop will bring together soil spectroscopy experts to promote knowledge and the use of this discipline in environmental science, and it will generate a white paper to be published as an FAO-Global Soil Partnership (GSP) report that will serve as reference for the soil spectroscopy community.
