International Symposium on “Linking Biodiversity Conservation and Poverty Reduction: What, Why and How”

This symposium is organized by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), UNEP-World Conservation Monitoring Centre and the African Wildlife Foundation and is hosted by the Zoological Society of London. Its purpose is to explore the current state of knowledge regarding the nature and scale of biodiversity conservation-poverty reduction links and the most appropriate mechanisms to maximize them, and to identify key research and implementation gaps, in order to help inform a post-2010 biodiversity target for the CBD.
