This conference will bring together participants to discuss adaptation and mitigation to the impacts of climate change on water resource systems. Conference themes include: identifying and quantifying water-related changes due to direct human interventions; identifying and quantifying water-related changes due to climate change; quantifying and predicting the consequences of water-related changes in terms of economic, social and environmental impacts; identifying appropriate adaptation and mitigation strategies to reduce vulnerability and to increase the resilience of water resource systems; and methodologies, modelling, prediction and uncertainty. The conference outcomes will serve as a contribution to the implementation of UNESCO's International Hydrological Programme (IHP).
