The UN Institute for Training and Research's (UNITAR) Local Development Programme and the Latin American Development Bank (CAF), with support from Chile's Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MINVU), are organizing this Forum to help build an international platform to exchange knowledge and best practices in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and improving the resilience of cities in Latin America. The Forum also will discuss the development of action plans for implementation and local cooperation, using lessons learned from Japan, Chile, and other Latin American countries.
